Ed. Smith families:
If you are like many parents, the SCSD Code of Conduct may mean something completely different to you than it does for our children, the students. Interested in learning more from a parent member of the district team that created the Code of Conduct? Confused by some of the explanations provided by various media sources? If so, please consider attending a Code of Conduct presentation for families on Monday, March 30th at 5:45p.m. facilitated by Lisa Neville, a long-time Ed Smith and Nottingham Parent, and a parent member of the district team that helped create the Code of Conduct, among other initiatives.
We’ll serve a light dinner (i.e. pizza/salad) at 5:30p.m.. The Code presentation starts at 5:45p.m., and people are encouraged but not required to stay for the PTO meeting at 7:00p.m..
The presentation is intended to offer families an opportunity to learn about shifts in the district behavior support policy and practice, the Code of Conduct Character and Support and the rights and responsibilities of all members of the school community. We will share information about implementation district-wide, of course including Ed Smith staff who are present to share their experiences so far. We also gather ideas and concerns from the community to take back to the Office of Student Support.
